The ability to have prior knowledge of potential test routes was the best preparation we could have had. Not realising just how different and varied the areas that could possibly come up was an eye opener and also challenging. Exactly the kind of practise required rather than what we thought might be useful.
There was only one draw back to the entire app. Having to start and end at the driving test centre for each route was extremely frustrating especially in view of the fact we would then often go past our home again whilst out on a practise. Had we been able to look at and then start at other points on routes we could have achieved more in the limited time we had, as often just driving to the test centre and then having to finish at the test centre would take up a considerable amount of time. Time that could have been utilised towards a different test route.
On the whole though the practise achieved by using this app I am 100% convinced gave that advantage when it came to our child’s driving test, especially as I was the only one teaching them. No instructors and it’s nearly 40 years since my test.
