If you are planning on taking your practical driving test at the Barnet test centre it’s quite easy to locate, it’s is central to the town and is situated in the same building as the Job Centre, Barnet is located just of the A1 and easily accessible from the M25. Barnet test centre is located at Raydean House, 15 Western Parade, this is on the corner of Raydean Road and Western Parade, about 3 minutes from the town centre, it is reasonably sized and caters for learners in the town of Barnet and with links to the A1/M25 make it easily accessible to students across North London also. If you are not familiar with the area the best route to the test centre is to head for the A1 and at Stirling Corner roundabout follow signs to barnet or Arkley via the A411. At the end of the road turn right onto Barnet High Street this leads into Barnet Hill and then into Great North Road, Western Parade is a service road on your right hand side, the test centre is located in the same building as Barnet Job Centre. There is no parking at this test centre, arrive a little earlier to familiarise yourself with the area and find a suitable parking space on the side roads, but try not to arrive too early before your test so as not to cause congestion for other students taking their tests.

This is the day and finally you are ready to take your practical driving test! Of course you will be feeling a little nervous? you don’t need to be, the examiner is just going to be observing you driving safely, and the test is very straight forward and shouldn’t be anything new to you.
On the day of the test you just need to be at Barnet DVSA Driving Test Centre 10 mins before your test, making sure you have your Provisional Driving License with you. The test will be as follows.
20 minutes of general driving, where you’ll be following instructions from the driving test examiner, and will also need to perform one of the following manoeuvres
One “show me” questions covering vehicle controls, this will be asked while you are driving along. (click here)
Once you get back to Barnet driving test centre, you’ll find out if all of your hard work has paid off. The examiner will tell you the result and give you some feedback which will contain any faults you might have accumulated. If you pass, the examiner will also give you a test pass certificate and the opportunity to send off for your new licence then and there. The full test report will be sent to you via the email that you provided when you booked your driving test.
