Directions to get to Barking Practical Driving Test Centre

If you are not familiar with the area the best route to the test centre is to head for the A406 and follow signs to Barking via the A124. Follow the signs for Barking/Town Centre A124, and then Ilford A123 this will lead you onto Fanshawe Avenue. Tanner Street makes the corner on the left as the road turns into Ilford Lane. This is not the easiest of test centres to find so it’s well worth using the SatNav if you are not familiar with the area. There is no parking at this test centre, arrive a little earlier to familiarise yourself with the area and find a suitable parking space on the side roads, but try not to arrive early before your test so as not to cause congestion for other students taking their tests.

More about Barking

If you’re to be a qualified driver in the Barking area, be prepared to face a variety of difficult traffic conditions and road types. Whilst the driving examiner isn’t looking to fail you, their job is to make sure that you are actually ready to remove the L plates. As such, they’ll take you through a thorough test to see if you can handle safely all of the challenges Barking has to offer. With a variety of dual carriageways, residential roads, and congested areas, you’ll also need to be at ease with responding to different speed limits, it is worth practicing this well as there are a lot of narrow streets. With lots of one way side roads around the test centre these are definitely worth practising.
